The Sign of the Cross
How To...
How To...
In the name
of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
" Said while making the sign of the Cross by moving the right hand from the forehead to the chest, to the left shoulder, then to the right shoulder."

The Our Father
Christ
Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day,
our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.
"The Lord's Prayer "is truly the summary of the whole gospel." "Since the Lord...after handling over the practice of prayer, said elsewhere, 'Ask and you will receive,' and since everyone has petitions which are peculiar to his circumstances, the regular and appropriate prayer (the Lord's Prayer) is said first, as the foundation of further desires."

- Tertullian, De orat.
from the Catechism of the Catholic Church; 2761.

The Apostles Creed

descendit ad ínferos, tertia die resurrexit a mortuis,
ascendit ad caelos, sedet ad dexteram Patris omnipotentis,
inde venturus est iudicare vivos et mortuos.
Credo in Spiritum Sanctum,
sanctam Ecclesiam catholicam, sanctorum communionem,
remissionem peccatorum,
carnis resurrectionem,
vitam aeternam.
Amen.
Apostles

The English Text

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of
God the Father Almighty.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.
"The Apostles' Creed is so called because it is rightly considered to be a faithful summary of the apostles' faith. It is the ancient baptismal symbol of the Church of Rome. Its great authority arises from this fact: it is 'the Creed of the Roman Church, the See of Peter, the first of the apostles, to which he brought the common faith."
- from the Catechism of the Catholic Church; 194.

"This Creed is the spiritual seal, our heart's meditation and an ever-present guardian; it is, unquestionably, the treasure of our soul."
- Saint Ambrose.

The Hail Mary
<Mary Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen.

"Beginning with Mary's unique cooperation with the working of the Holy Spirit, the Churches developed their prayer to the holy Mother of God, centering it on the Person of Christ manifested in His mysteries. In countless hymns and antiphons expressing this prayer, two movements usually alternate with one another: the first "magnifies" the Lord for the "great things " He did for His lowly servant and through her for all human beings. The second entrusts the supplications and praises of the children of God to the Mother of Jesus, because she now knows the humanity which, in her, the Son of God espoused."

- from the Catechism of the Catholic Church; 2675.

Hail Holy Queen
Hail, holy queen,
The Lord is with thee.
mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness,
and our hope. To you we cry,
poor banished children of Eve;
to you we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this
valley of tears. Turn then, O
most gracious advocate, your
eyes of mercy toward us, and
after this our exile, show unto
us the blessed fruit of your womb,
Jesus. O clement, O loving, O
sweet virgin Mary.

Pray for us,
O holy Mother of God.
Holy Queen

Response:

That we may be made worthy
of the promises of Christ,
Let us pray; O God, whose only
begotten Son, by his life, death,
and resurrection, has purchased for
us the rewards of eternal life, grant,
we beseech you, that meditating
upon these mysteries of the most
holy rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
we may imitate what they contain and
obtain what they promise.

Through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Glory to the Father
Prayer of Praise

Glory to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and will be for ever.
Amen.

O My Jesus
Fátima Prayer
Jesus O my Jesus, forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell,
lead all souls to Heaven, especially
those who have the most need of your mercy.

Amen.

Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima)
